Why tipping cam performers matters
Preparation, equipment, platform fees, promotion, privacy and emotional labor all exist behind a live room.

The work starts before the room opens
A performer may spend time preparing the room, lighting, camera, clothing, internet, profile and promotion before a viewer sees anything.
Revenue is not the same as a tip total
Platforms may charge fees, and creators may also pay for equipment, connectivity, taxes, studio services or promotion.
Emotional labor is still labor
Keeping conversation moving, handling rude messages and maintaining energy can be exhausting.
Support without entitlement
Tip within your means, follow the room rules and accept boundaries immediately.
Black performers deserve the same dignity, privacy and ordinary human complexity as anyone else. A live room does not erase that.
